The WhatsApp HSM are structured messages or templates pre-approved by META – WhatsApp, which can include text, images, videos, or PDFs with buttons. When to Use an HSM?

  • User-Initiated Conversations: When the user or client starts the conversation with a message to your WhatsApp line. In this case, HSMs are not necessary.
  • Business-Initiated Conversations: When the business wants to start a conversation with the user or client, HSM are required and must meet two mandatory conditions:
    • User consent
    • A template approved by by META – WhatsApp
Remember that HSM messages must be Expected, Relevant, and Timely:

Timely
